In 2015, I was laid off from my first job out of college and had no idea what I was going to do. So I decided to start my own production company, Ryval Studios. With no professional production experience, no funding and no business plan. Sounds like a great idea, right?
I spent the first 5 years cutting my teeth on any video project that I could get in the door. If I didn't sell, I didn't eat. So I had to learn how to get good at sales. From that point on I consumed every sales book I could get my hands on, listened to sales podcasts and even hired a sales coach to teach me how to get good at selling.
In 2020, I had a dream of getting into the sports and entertainment, but this was a market I had no knowledge of, no contacts and no experience in yet. So I applied everything I knew about sales to try and get into this highly competitive market. And with enough faith, blood, sweat and tears, it started to work.
Within a couple short years, I landed multiple projects with top collegiate and professional sports teams that include Duke basketball, Carolina Hurricanes, St. Louis Blues, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, NC State and more. My sales strategies also opened up new doors with Madison Square Garden and ESPN and landed relationships with teams that include the New York Giants, Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints, New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning and more.
So why start Momentm and teach other production companies how to do outbound sales? I've had many coaches and mentors that have been instrumental in my success and want to help other production companies get into any market they want. I want to share real proven strategies that have worked for me and will give you the exact exact and blueprints I use everyday.
